Digitally She Does It! Podcast

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up.”

– Thomas Edison

In episode 24 of the Digitally She Does It podcast, I talk to Executive Coach and Transformational Leadership Coach, Rachael Robson-Green. Rachael supports businesses and organisations to develop, empower, inspire their leaders and teams to create an engaged conscious culture where everyone gets to thrive. She also support individuals and entrepreneurs, as leaders in their own businesses, and their lives to do exactly the same. And this is those who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, perhaps they’re caught in the relentless doing.

Through this episode we talked about limiting beliefs and how entrepreneurs can better manage their time and create a true transformation in terms of their mindset and their heart set.

Entrepreneurs often have a tendency to really push themselves too much and can forget why they started their business in the first place. It’s only when they reconnect and realign to their true purpose, they begin to slow down and look at where our energy is going.

What can go wrong with our to do lists?

Our to do lists sometimes are like the devil’s work. It’s almost as though when you have this list of tasks to do, that’s where your focus goes, because you want to be productive and get the things done that need to be done. But it can stop growth in other areas if you’re so caught up in the weeds of your business rather than looking from a wider perspective. Rachael thinks that’s really important to be connected to what you’re creating.

How do you feel about scarcity at the moment and what would you suggest a way to flip on mindset?

Our challenge is through that presenting reality is not to get caught up in the belief system of there is not enough. We do have a conscious choice in that whether we focus on the lack of scarcity, or whether we pivot and decide and I’m going to look for the opportunity. As we’ve seen, there is the opportunity to create different possibilities where we can thrive.

As entrepreneurs, we’ve got the opportunity to make those conscious choices, and shift our mindset in a way that leaves us open to creating new things and the possibility of new things. So it’s going back to that intentional piece. When you believe it when you see it, you will see it. And that’s how we create it.

How can we make a difference and impact other people’s lives?

In the work that I do, I want to make a difference in people’s lives. For me, leaning in and leading with kindness is to be number one. If that is in a short exchange with somebody who I’ve never met before, and probably will never meet again, who knows where that could lead? It can be the small difference that makes the big difference overall. When we dwell on things, we then create more of the same.

What we need to do is reframe it in that way, and ask ourselves, what am I choosing now? What am I seeing around me, and then look underneath what’s really going on for you? These aren’t conversations we can have on our own where we can see outside of our map of the world, often, we need someone else to point out those blind spots, so that we can look at the opportunities and the possibilities that are there in a different way.

How can we help each other as entrepreneurs?

I don’t think for a moment that we’re meant to do this alone. I don’t even think as entrepreneurs were meant to do this entrepreneurial journey alone. I think we need to be connected to others that understand and who are going through it as well. During this time of change, reaching out and talking about the things that may be causing you fear or worry, I think is really important, because that’s what’s going to help you shift your perspective and how you’re feeling and also give you a way forward in terms of what you can do to really support yourself through this period of uncertainty.
